High capacities
Giftedness, intelligence and talent are concepts that can have different meanings depending on the cultures. For that reason, there is no universally accepted definition of what High Capabilities are. The World Health Organization (WHO) considers that a person is "gifted" when their Intellectual Quotient is equal to or greater than 130. However, the intelligence tests are not accurate and today the specialists in the diagnosis of the Alta Capacity does not take into account only this data, since they do not believe that there is an equal cutoff for all.Done Dissertation
The first psychologist who used the word "gifted" was the American Lewis Terman (1932) to refer to subjects who are in the upper 1% of the overall intelligence results assessed by the Stanford-Binet scales.
Identifying and educating children and young people with high abilities can be a challenge for educators. Schools must respond to their educational needs, before their skills disappear or are less recognizable to those who can do something for them. Until a few years ago, the idea of adapting students' curricula was associated with those who had difficulty learning, without taking into account students with high abilities.
